frame question
Anyone ever try to put a 67=72 chevy truck frame under a 55-57 body??

It can be done but you would have to raise the floor in the bed several inches to clear the kickup in the later frame.
I just went out and looked at my 71 in the parking lot and that kickup is right at 7 inches meaning that you would have to raise the floor of the bed 7 inches on the earlier truck to make it work right. Unless you made stands for the cab and bed so that the cab was raised the 7 inches off the frame and that would be pretty hokey. |

A guy can sometimes get away with using pieces like that and mixing and matching if he doesn't care if the wheels don't set exactly right in the wheel wells or if he doesn't care if the bed has any capacity or if he isn't worried about chopping up the inner fender wells in front to clear the A frames but all too often setups like that end up pretty rough at best.
