my 47 KB-2

I have been busy, I started this build in late-March, and I have been driving it since mid-July. It has been very hard to keep up with my camera, please excuse the lack of progress pictures. I will answer questions if any. Thanks for looking.

THE UNSUSPECTING VICTIM.

THREE HOURS LATER....

LEADSLED SPECTACULAR 2011...SALINA, KANSAS

Hope you enjoyed my version of the S10 swap....kids kept stealing my camera, thats why there are not very many pics. Oh yeah, I modified my dash to fit the S10 gauge cluster as well. The odometer now reads 265,000+

Re: my 47 KB-2

I watched a guy restore one of those. Funniest thing I ever saw. He would get a box of rust and just be overjoyed. Then he would take that box of rust to a sheetmetal guy and have him use the rust as a pattern for a part. Turns out, one of his first memories in life was of his dad and granddad taking him with them to move that truck.I've always thought they were just different enough to make really cool rides. Using the S10 for a base seems like it worked out well. You did do that quick.

Re: my 47 KB-2

The international build was by far the funnest build I have ever done. The most difficult part was the wiring harness. It now has a pickup box on it and it is next in line for an engine swap/upgrade. The s10s drive train now has 290000 plus. The 5 speed sounds horrid while driving it down the highway.
I now live in central Texas, anyone know where I might be able to pick up a good used 4l60e for this trucks new drive train.

I use Robert at RCS in Tyler quite a bit. 1-800-259-4020. Worst case, he might be able to see if someone local to you has one. You can also check out www.car-part.com as well.
