converting to low hump
Anybody know where I could find a low hump for a 72 chevy cab? I know there are some companies that sell entire floor pans but I'm just trying to replace my bolt in high hump with a low hump. I understand that its part of the floor in the low humps but a replacement piece, bolt-in or not, would be much easier than finding and cutting a low-hump cab

I'm sure there are many poeple here would trade you[including me] a low hump for a high hump. Are you converting from a high hump to a low hump? I have two cabs that I will be doing the opposite.

Don't know what your reason is but if you already have a high hump it would be cheaper and a much cleaner looking job just to bolt a high hump back in. But if that won't work for you. You would have to find a good used low hump cut it out and weld it back in your truck. Nobody reproduces these so you would have to go used.

Okay, here's my story:
When I bought my truck the PO told me that it had a stock 350/th350 in it. After I got it home I ran the numbers of the engine and transmission and found out that both were out of a 1974 Chevy car. It was actually a 400(sbc) and a th400. I am rebuilding the engine and will still be using the TH400. I am doing a from off resto and, after looking at pics of other trucks, realized that there are different sizes of tranny tunnels (low hump and high hump). I realized that mine is a high hump. I can tell that it was a low-hump at one time but the floor has been converted (cut out and drilled for a high-hump). I am putting a bench back in the truck and would like more leg room in the middle. In your opinions, is this worth it? I can't imagine it would be difficult to put a low hump replacement back in. Are there any advantages to having a high hump? If I did make the conversion I would like to keep the high hump cover in case I decided to go Big block in the distant future. What do you guys think I should do? Does anybody have a replacement piece (and a price) they would be willing to ship to 89145? All comments welcome. Thanks

You don`t lose much leg room low to high hump and if theres
any chance at all your going BB, to me it wouldn`t be worth monkeying with. My .02
