what did you get done 10/02/2011 edition

I didnt get anything done due to weather issues here but i have the parts to swap in the tilt column if all goes well and add my new wheel.. i have the new seat and will try to upholster that tomorrow ..
I did do something today tho not truck related which im kinda proud of .. I qualified with the shotgun for a hunting license and bought myself a compound bow to try the archery one next
How about you all?

Chores and stuff this weekend, last weekend repaired kitchen cabinets. Haven't picked on the project in awhile, last thing I did was start stripping out the wiring harness in the engine compartment. Been slow going due to 100 F in the shade down here...

On a side note, Saturday I picked up a set of old 15x8 cragars with knock off caps wrapped in 275/60-15 radial t/a's. Got 'em mounted up and spent the rest of the weekend cruisin'.

Gonna drive the truck all week. next weekend i'll put an advance kit in the distributor and get a good tune on it. I am working a trade on a holleyHP dual feed with mechanical secondaries, maybe I'll get that on and running soon.

Fixed the passenger side outer door handle on the Heap. The handle is rarely used, I guess they like grease, works like new.

Built a switch box for air control on my '50, few bucks at Radio Shack, almost done. The Shack was out of the type switch I wanted for a master dump control. I'll add one later.

AC compressor for the house went out...going to replace the whole unit since the condenser is 10 years old and not in great shape (not too mention inefficient). 3.5-5k out of my pockets = no progress on truck for a while.

Cruised in it. Felt great to finally have an old one mobile again. Today was the start of our week long classic car cruise in, so the Hoopty and I will be logging in some miles and shows.

Cleaned the truck up and hauled the wife and my cooler to a bonfire. Did some of my "honey do" list to get ready for my daughter who will be showing up any day now.

Beautiful weather weekend for us north Texans! Finally some cooler weather... Took the family to the Texas State Fair on Saturday. Yesterday afternoon I pulled the springs out from under my '79 and chopped off a full coil to get the nose down / rake look I've been wanting for my truck.

Raked leaves for a day and a half. Went to look at parts (bought them today Monday). Made a deposit on a condo for an investment... Don't know if that was a good idea

I changed the u-joints on my 86. While I had the drive shaft out, I cleaned it up and painted it. I expect my new 350 to be delivered in the next couple of days. They do not give a tracking # for freight shipping.
