Seafoam on Carb'd '86 Chevy c10?
What is the best way to use seafoam on my truck? I have read to pour it in the crankcase, or just the gas tank, or a vacuum line or straight into the carb... anyone have experience on a similar truck and what works and what doesnt?

Unhook the vacuum line going to your brake booster and pour it in there so it goes right in on top of the engine. Putting some in the gas tank does not hurt either. I did it to my old 79 K5 and it helped a TON.
Just get ready for a smoke show, you'll swear something is on fire. Just means it's working though.

Re: Seafoam on Carb'd '86 Chevy c10?
I run it in the crankcase periodically to keep the oiling system clean. On my 74 and my old 79, I pour it in the carb slowly, keeping it running when it trys to stall out, I do that twice, and then on the third pour, I let it flood out and let it sit for about 15-20 min. Fire it up and smoke out the neighborhood.
The first time I did it in my 79 it was like I had given it new life. It chirped the tires going into second, and ran like a new engine again. I repeated the process again and less smoke the second time, but still a fair amount of it. Too many years of bad gas it would seem.

I run it on all my rigs. Love the stuff. Did wonders on my 59 and 78 even helped the 87 tbi. Didnt help the international travelall though but then nothing will.

Re: Seafoam on Carb'd '86 Chevy c10?
I poured a third of it down through the carb while it was running, it kept trying to die so I would stop pouring for a bit, then when I got to the end of that 1/3 of the bottle I poured it in and let it die added another third to the gas tank and the final third to the crankcase. Let it sit for about 20 minutes and started it up. Smoked and stank like hell but after that MAN was there a difference! I drove it about 10 miles around to get the oil circulating and then went home let it sit some more and changed the oil. I didn't think it would actually do much but I already notice a huge difference even just in the smoothness of the idle and the acceleration near the bottom! I'm gunna make a habit of doing this every oil change!

Re: Seafoam on Carb'd '86 Chevy c10?
I just ran a bottle through my gas tank last week. I haven't run the truck in over a year. I am not sure if it's the seafoam or just because I am actually driving it. Either way the truck is running better.
