Post accident loading truck on trailer.

Had a small accident loading my truck on a trailer. Ramps came out when I was about 1/2 way up. Man, that was a scary feeling. Think I'll borrow a better trailer next time.

I dunno hom many times that's happened to me. At least your wheels were mostly on the trailer and not on the ramp. Now THAT will scare the srap outa you.

Like that guy in the back is actually going to hold the truck on the trailer?

GET OUT OF THE WAY, FOOL!

Your life may be worth a scratch on the truck, but mine sure isn't.

when it fell, both rear wheels were on the ramp. Landed on the trailing arms. I had both feet on the brake cuz I didn't know what the heck had happened. The pic was taken after it was in no danger of falling off the trailer. Had 2 come alongs attached to it to be sure. Had a good laugh afterwords though.

Glad you did not get hurt or have damage.

This reminds me of a loading story I had 3 years ago. I was loading my old (60's) cub cadet onto my 1968 Chev p/u. I had just used it a bunch so it was hot, and had just filled it up with gas. When I got almost in the truck, the back wheels spun the ramps off and the back end dropped down, luckily, onto the mower deck leaving the rear wheels hanging over the tailgate. It did pop a little wheelie first, and I guess some gas leaked out of the tank cap. The tank is right over the motor and I guess it hit the manifold. Anyway, it poofed into flames. So there I am trying to balance the tractor and deal with a fire. For some reason I just got mad and lost all intentions of trying to save the mower. It was going to burn. But not my truck. I jumped off the back and yanked it off the truck onto its top side and let her burn. Two bad parts are that I just spent around 4 hundred bucks rebuilding the mower deck and a few other things. Also that my wife and mother-in-law had to see the whole thing. Good part is there was no camera around!

Havn't used others trailer but mine has catches for the ramps so they can not move. When loading my boys 70 chevy sb we were only alowed about 1 in on both sides so we backed in on and choose to use the meager 1500 lb winch doubled the cable with a pulley and can control the direction with the very slow pace of the winch. We did have the problem of the pipe off the headers rubbed on the trailer and we will raise the end of the ramps to reduce the angle of the incline of the ramps. Ed ke6bnl

I've had that happen as well.

Pin the ramps to the trailer and they won't slip on you again..

Mine has slide out ramps. Just pop open the door, pull the ramp out, fold down the door and drive on. Open the door, push in the ramp close the door and pin and you're done! Beats the He!! out of lugging a pair of 100# ramps around.
