look what i just picked up!!
1966 c10 LWB made in fremont california. sbc. 5 speed tko-500 500ft/lb with a .68 5th od (has papers to prove it) installed in '04.cost $2,495. Hurst mid-shifter. fresh paint in May of '11. cost $2,000. runs good but im still getting used to the hard clutch. Tell me what you think.. how can i verify the tko trans? casting #s or specific design?

very nice,my 1966 stepside was built in the same plant.the truck is solid i just took up the old carpeting no holes in the floor.

thanks guys. plans as of now are just to drive, drive ,drive and drive it some more.. while i work on my '65 c20. from what it looks the fenders,grille, and bumpers are repops. wiring is a bit of a mess under the dash but everything works. i picked it up this morning in Livermore, a 30-35 min drive.

Slick! Your post got me wondering where mine was built. I had always thought it was Fremont too. Now I can't find it on any decoder. So much for a relaxing night! Good score on you truck though. I'd drive the wheels off it!

heres the dash. it has a thin piece of wood glued to the metal. the ash tray face is a block of wood.
