You should do what YOU want. I should be asking you, "what are you going to do with this thing?"

i was thinking about lowering it and paintin it flat black. but i dont know how to lower the rear end with out cuttin a c-notch out and puttin bags on it. could i take some leafs out of the rear and still have enough suspension to have the wrecker functional?

Re: What do i do with this thing???

if you really wanted to lower it, maybe you could bag the rear with a set of 18 wheeler bags. im sure theyre rated for it. custom is sometimes great, but o.g. will always be cool. remember the tweed interiors? where are they now?

It's a tow truck. Make it function correctly, then let it be.

I personally wouldn't change its stance. I think it looks perfect as it sits.

My vote is to keep it like it is now, just clean it and paint it!

Re: What do i do with this thing???

you should be able to do an axle flip (mount it above the springs, instead of below), that should get you 6-8 inches...
would probably need a c notch for that, but looks like there would be some room to put some extra steel back above the notch so that it could still function as a wrecker.

Re: What do i do with this thing???

I agree with the others, I would leave the paint and body as is, maybe tires and wheels, make it functional and reliable and drive it!

Re: What do i do with this thing???

i'm with oem4me and papa kent, I'd fix it up as a functional tow truck. I would go stock ride height (I like the alcoas too) and, to me, this truck is the perfect candidate for some old gas station door art and old timey phone numbers on the side. I ALWAYS liked the Sunoco trucks. I don't know why.

63CHEVY62GMC,

I have met alot of fellas at car shows and crusins and they keep telling me about a big car show at Lake Lure. Annual Vintage Tin Car Show in Lake Lure held at the Rumbling Bald Resort on Lake Lure, North Carolina.

Have you ever been to it? Is it nice like everyone says?
Everyone keeps telling me and pops need to go. It's a long drive for us though. We may just go next year and just look.
