Engine won't start after intake manifold change.
Changed the intake manifold and out everything back together and the engine won't start. It keeps backfiring. Before I took the distributor out I put # 1 and tdc and marked were the cap was positioned. When I dropped it back in i lined the rotor back in at the #1 spot and I never let the dist turn after I took it out. But idk it's the first time I've dug that far into an engine. I just couldn't understand how it could be the distributor out 180 but who knows. Any ideas on were to start looking for the problem. Thanks a lot.

Are all your plug wires put back in correct order?

I am thinking plug wires also. Did you mark which terminal the #1 plug went to before pulling them?

Yep thats exactly what I was thinking and was going to ask. How bad is the backfire real bad or just a lil one?

Double check firing order, make sure plug wires are installed correctly (no loose connections), that's all I can think of. I accidently got 2 cylinders wrong, and hooked the wires to the dizzy wrong, checked my firing order, corrected the problem, and fixed it.
