How does the the detent cable work and where does it mount on the manifold? I'm installing a 700r on the back of a 283 with and 327 quad-jet carb. When i got the truck none of these was hooked up. I would like to know how to hook it up?

cpetersen,
I just hooked a 700R4 to the back of my 67 327 and my best advise to you is to go to a website called Bowtie Overdrives (www.bowtieoverdrives.com) and they will have all the things you need to hook up your Tranny. There is a wiring kit that needs to be installed in the 700R4 that has a Selenoid and a pressure switch and you will need a Double Contact Brake Switch along with the wiring thats included in the kit. I would also suggest that you buy their TV (Throttle Valve Cable) and their linkage that hooks to the Carb for eisier adjustment of the TV Cable. Your looking at about a $300 investment but after installing the one in my Sons 64 Short Fleet I think it was well worth the money.

Good Luck, and if you have any questions just let me know.
