Craigslist '68 C-40
Check it out, if you're into this size truck. Pix don't look too bad. Not my truck and don't know anything about it.

That looks like a good one to Dino-ize! It needs a V8 though, and what vehicle doesn't.

The truck is around Dennard, HWY 65 north on Clinton. Looks pretty good, not a bad price. A V-8 would be nice. Looks like a old Gov. truck that went thru the state fire program.

Re: Craigslist '68 C-40
Agreed. That six, the four speed, and a Gear Vendors OD....... It may not do a smoke-show, but it could close the grand canyon!

Re: Craigslist '68 C-40
nbrf007, thanks for the 366 offer but I have a 454t400 I had thoughts of using in the C 40-60 project. I had thought of doing one with a pickup bed or I had thought of doing one with a rollback bed [if I could find one] or a flat with a dove tail car hauler bed.

Re: Craigslist '68 C-40
Just had an idea, has anyone ever tried a NV4500 in one of these. I have read and decided to try the T-5 in my 70 half ton that has the 3ott. That NV4500 is a heavy overdrive and the bellhousing is removable if I remember correctly. I wonder if it has the same pattern as the old cast 4speed that is in the C40-60. If so that would be an easier way to get some gas mileage out of a truck that would'nt work all the time anymore [at least not the way I had planned to use it]. Also, anyone know the rear end ratios of these trucks?
