"Badfinger"

I've changed a few things on this build as I've come to realize I'd rather have a driver than a show truck. I took out the high hp motor and replaced with a more reasonable choice. I'v decided to go with some Delmo Specials instead of the Bonspeeds I had originally planned. I think this direction will give me an end result I'll be much happier with in the long run.

Custom Porterbuilt Frame w/Coilovers
GM Performance Parts LS3
4L80E Trans
9" Rear End
22" Delmo Specials(white centers w/caps)

Re: "Badfinger"

Signing up for this one!

I'm watching to see how you stuff a set of 24x15's under those tiny stepside rear fenders.
They are super short (height-wise).
The last stepside truck I saw with a tall rear tire had 2" stretched rear fenders, so it would get low.
Those 405/25-24's are HUGE.
And the Huntington's are my favorite wheel from Bonspeed.

Re: "Badfinger"

lolife I've thought about that many times late at night. I'm thinking since it won't be too low it might just work. If Nate can't make it work and look right I'll probably end up scraping the 24x15's and going in another direction. First and foremost I have to get the 24x15's, it's been around 4 months since I ordered them. It took 4 months to get the set for my first project so I guess I should have expected it.

Your orange truck is awesome.
No matter what rear wheel size you use on this truck,... it will be amazing.

Re: "Badfinger"

You can see this sweet stepside has had the rear fenders raised/stretched up to the bed rail.
But you can also tell the bed has been raised since the fender bodylines do not match.
I know your truck will not be bagged,... but it's alot of work to stuff a big tire using these beds.

Re: "Badfinger"

Thank you for the compliments and thanks for the pics. I never even thought about stretching the fenders, not sure if that's something I'm willing to do but if I end up going that route I'll make sure I get the body lines to match. I think that would drive me crazy if they didn't and I had to look at it everyday.

Re: "Badfinger"

Where exactly is the stretch on those fenders ? Looks like they added at the bottom below the body line. Seems like if it was at the top above the side marker light the line would match. I am interested in doing this so I wanted some info. Are the wheel wells enlarged at all and is the step the stock width?? I cant tell. Thanks

I can't find the original pics,... but I believe the box is raised 1" and the "top half" of the fender was raised up to the bed rail.
There's a picture of it on the internet with the filler piece welded in,... I just can't find it.

Sorry for the hi-jack,...
