Hello again,
I am slowly working through all of the little problems with my truck.

In this case I need to know where I can get the spring that returns the parking brake pedal to the off position, and as there is currently none in the truck, I have nothing to bring in to compare a new one to.

It's currently being held up with metal wire.

Does anyone know where I can get one locally?

I guess that the best place would be a junkyard.

See if you can find a parts truck? I just found one for $200.00.

I had the same exact problem and what was wrong was not the spring. It was the cables that were messed up underneath not allowing the parking brake pedal to fully retract, thus putting on the brake lite. I replaced all the cables from LMC ( entire assembly) and the light stays out fine now

Brake cable adjustment or replacement might help, but I just got a throttle return spring and hooked it from the pedal arm to the dash frame - shorten the spring to tighten it if the light does not go out - assuming that your parking brake works properly. Removing the parking brake assembly is a bit of a pain due to close quarters and the location of the bolts, so I would avoid that if possible.

So in stock form is there supposed to be a spring under the dash? Or is the pedal held up by tension from the parking brake cable?

As I recall, the parking brake mechanism contains an internal spring, which I did not attempt to dissect and replace. It is a lot easier to just pick up a throttle spring (often a package of various springs from HELP, Dorman, Mortomite, etc.) and just pick one that looks about the right size and install it. As I said, taking out that parking brake mechanism is a PITA and not worth the hassle unless the mechanism is completely shot and not functional. I think there is a hole in the arm of the parking brake pedal near the top, and you can find a spot nearby on the lower dash frame to hook the other end of the spring to. If not, just drill a small hole in the parking brake arm and/or lower dash - very simple quick fix for me.
