Re: Some pics of West Coast mirrors
My opinion: They only look proper on dual wheel trucks. Painted mine black to match the dump bed.

Re: Some pics of West Coast mirrors
I don't understand Westcoast mirrors? Those are New Jersy Turn-pike mirrors aren't they? The mirrors on my truck that was built in San Leandro Ca are so small that you can see. So when the turn signal is on the lane must be clear.

Re: Some pics of West Coast mirrors
The mirror option DG5 was listed as "Senior West Coast Mirrors" and was only available on C/K30 1 tons ...single or dual wheel

Re: Some pics of West Coast mirrors
No offense, but those mirrors look like they are meant for semi's. They are hideous.

Re: Some pics of West Coast mirrors
Well no matter what they may be called, I know them as door killers. You touch that mirror against anything and the door takes the punishment with a big ol dent. If not the vibration that will crack the door at the mounts over time. Really not the ideal choice unless your towing a large trailer on a regular basis.

Re: Some pics of West Coast mirrors
For me West Coast mirrors are a godsend. I've got a big engine driven welder, torch rig, and large tool boxes on my work truck bed and need all the mirror area I can get.
I'm currently restoring a 78 model 1 ton to be my new welding rig to replace my current one. I'm adding doubler plates to the inside of the doors with nuts welded to them so I can screw the WC mirrors in place with proper bolts and not sheetmetal screws and they'll rely on more than a thin layer of sheetmetal for support.

Re: Some pics of West Coast mirrors
I feel like I've seen those mirrors or at least a similar style on a lot of the medium duty versions of these trucks.

Re: Some pics of West Coast mirrors
i love west coast mirrors provided they are done in the right context---usually worker truck, 1-ton, dual wheels. But not always.
i think this is a good example and i love the truck as well: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...&highlight=ton i also totally love 1-ton trucks despite the "thirsty" problem. |

Re: Some pics of West Coast mirrors
My flatbed has a set that were dealer installed, the truck was ordered with standard mirrors but the original owner didn't like 'em I guess. The white cab-chassis belonged to a guy I work with but he sold it awhile back.
