1970 3/4 step side puller build (blue blood)
Hear is my 1970 chevy C20 I am building to drive and do some truck pulling. I bought the truck on ebay years back from state of michigan. The truck spent its life on a island in lake michigan called beaver island. I am not sure what truck did but it had fire fighting equipment and large radio with amp under seat with 6 foot wipe antenna mounted to back of cab. The truck is rust free but had dents in every panel. It showed 45k on speedo and I believe it could be orignal milage. Factory drive train was a 307 with sm465 4 speed with 205 t case and 4.56 gears in dana 44 front and rockwell rear. I do have orignal bill of sale to state of michigan. I am trying to dig up orignal pictures. will post them when I find more

Hear are some pictures of 2007 when I set truck up for stock class truck pulling. I bought used 454ho crate motor installed with centerforce dual friction clutch, changed rear end to 14 bolt with detroit locker, added 10 leafs springs to rear and new 3 leaf front springs, new 35 bkgs and went pulling. Had alot of fun placed in top 5 all pulls and first once that summer. But I broke 44 front and lost main bearings in 454. pictures are pulling 307, new 454 installed

Re: 1970 3/4 step side puller build (blue blood)
After loosing main bearings in 2007 I rebuilt 454 with 10 to 1 forged pistons, zz502 hydralic roller cam, dynoed with restictive cast exhaust manifolds (have to run all cast in stock class and pull 14 inchs vac) made 450hp at 5600rpm and 550tq. I drove truck alot and only hooked once and I was again loosing oil pressure. Pulled motor apart and had block sonic tested and found cracks in block near main oil vains. I then decided to put truck in barn and save some money to restore. That brings me to this summer 2011. picture of frame mods traction bar, ajustable bump stops, hitch, steering box brace, sway bar, motor mounts.

Re: 1970 3/4 step side puller build (blue blood)
More pictures drive shaft loops, traction bar, motor mounts moved ahead 2.5 inchs and down about an inch for more room by fire wall. also added crossmember to support new bump stops and added hitch brace to pull more from front of truck. My goal is to keep truck looking as stock as possible and still compete in open stock pulling class. That is y I mounted traction bar inside frame rails.

Painting frame. Turned out nice. Would use POR 15 again. Single stage no primer and sticks really good.

Look what I scored on craigs list! Factory 16.5 x 9.75 wheels for 125 dollars! Should make hear look like a sleeper at the track. I like the stock steal wheel look especially with wide stance!

Dude, That wheel looks awsome. The chrome lug nuts are great. Doyou know what the back space is? I've got three sets of these, and none are the same. I'm concerned that mine will stick out too far. Yours appear to sit just right on the front hub.
