Clearencing wheel hole width?
Mainly a question for the guys running bullet push thur-caps with stock wheels, How or what did you use to clearance the hole in the rim so the bullet cap fit between the rim and hub/spindle? Just see what might work the best since i will be tackling this task soon....grinding stone on drill ?...or all else fails have a shop do it.

Re: Clearencing wheel hole width?
I had a set of Centerline Smoothies with the same issue. When I was redoing the front end I put the rotor on the spindle and used a flap disc on a grinder and spun the rotor by hand grinding until I clearanced the centercap. I did this because it seemed the easiest DIY way at the time.

Re: Clearencing wheel hole width?
I ran into a similar problem with my front center caps on my Street Lites.....I just took the rotors to my machinist friend and had them turned down to fit. Not real diy, and the rear axles would be considerably more work, but you know it's done right

Re: Clearencing wheel hole width?
I have a set of push through bullets for my 59 chevy (car) they fit the axle/hub, and fit the stock wheels, but the holes on my chrome/reverse wheels are too small for the push through... would it be detrimental to the wheel to grind it down 'till the center cap pushes through?

Re: Clearencing wheel hole width?
I guess it wouldn't change the ride, how much are you going to have to grind down?

Re: Clearencing wheel hole width?
probably 1 to 2 16ths around the circumference... I guess the biggest issue would be grinding through the chrome plate, and opening up a spot for rust....which I guess I could paint the ground area...

Re: Clearencing wheel hole width?
well day one i went to hardware store and picked up the first three items in the picture "Rotary file","grinding drum","half round hand file" it took quite a bit of time and alot of labor , nothing really did a great job but i did get one wheel hole ground to the right size using a combination of all the tools i bought and mounted the wheel, i gave up and said "screw this", then today i decided to go back to the hardware store and see what i could find! I bought some thick cut off wheels for my air die cutter but then thought if i stacked them i could get more done so i picked up a arbor for the drill also, it worked much better and alot faster then the other three items
