Wheels

I have to get new tires for the truck so I am looking for different rims also. My old S10 I had American Racing AR23's which I thought would look pretty good on this truck. Thinking 15x7's on the front and 15x8's on the back. I believe the lug pattern is 5x5 correct me if I'm wrong. But what is the correct backspace? Also anybody have any pics of these wheels on our trucks?

Re: Wheels

First off, welcome to the board! Next, I'm not exactly what the AR23's look like, so I can't give my opinion on how they will look. Yes, the 71-72's have a 5x5 bolt pattern. 67-70's were 6 lug 6x5.5 pattern, but are easily converted to the 5x5 pattern.

As for backspacing, when I had 15x8s on my truck before, they had a 3.75" backspacing and fit well. That's usually the standard offset for 15x7 and 15x8 aftermarket wheels.

Re: Wheels

What is the widest tire you can put on a 8" rim? Also looking for a good street radial dot approved tire to put on it. Any suggestions on size and brand?

Is the truck lowered any? If not, do you plan to lower it, or keep it stock height?

Just for reference, here's a shot of mine with the 15's. I had 15x8's all around with 255/60/15 front 275/60/15 rear tires with a 3.5/5 drop.

Re: Wheels

Here is a pic of mine with AR23 wheels. Since it is a C20, they are 16x7" and running LT245/75R16 tires all around. Suspension is stock.

Re: Wheels

DMack91, truck is looking good. I am in process of putting 16X8 ar23s with 275/70's on my 72 C20 custom camper. I've got to decide if I want to put center caps on now, yours is sharp with out them!
