Antenna Delete
Is there such a thing as an Antenna Delete Plate?
I dont have a radio and have installed a radio delete plate, and the antenna is in bad shape. An Antenna Delete Plate, if there is such a thing, would provide an option to replacing the antenna. |

Re: Antenna Delete
in most cases the antenna came from the factory along with the mirrors on the front seat and were dealer installed . cowls came witout holes ,holes were drilled and antenna installed during dealer prep to deliver new vehicles

Re: Antenna Delete
That is what I was expecting to hear.
But, I imagine someone must have had the same scenario and came up with an easy solution. For instance, are there any flat rubber plugs that might be inserted to provide a solid seal? |

Re: Antenna Delete
I would think you could use a firewall plug and just use a dap of silicone before installation.

Re: Antenna Delete
Best way is to replace the cowl with a no hole version. I just found one in a junkyard near me that looked in good condition.

Re: Antenna Delete
And if you weld it closed, a quarter makes a perfect filler patch. Trick I learned from an old school body guy.

Re: Antenna Delete
I doubt the antenna was installed at the dealer. The mast might have been, but the hole was punched not drilled. Every cowl I have seen that had a factory antenna on it had a punched hole with a notch, and always in the same location. I just went out and snapped a pic of the cowl on my burb. It came with an AM radio, and has no antenna on it at the moment. I welded up the exact same hole in the cowl on my Longhorn. While my C/30 was a radio delete truck, the cowl came off my old '70 CST/20 Longhron that still had the original AM radio under the seat when I bought it.
I just discovered I cant post a pic from my i phone... I'll try to get the photo posted from my laptop later. Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Antenna Delete
There is no STEEL in any US coins (except the WWII pennys) There is no way a mig welder will work on a US Quarter.

To that picture: I can not tell if it is a quarter in the picture, assuming that it is........it could be silver soldered to the cowl.
