Ignition Switch Removal
Hey guys, Im trying to remove the ignition switch from my dash bezel. It is impossible to remove it by unscrewing the retainer nut since the keyed area is larger than the nut. there are two holes on this particular ignition so i dont know if it is stock or not. Ive tried the paper clip trick to no avail. any ideas?

Re: Ignition Switch Removal
there is a specialized tool to remove it - has two prongs that fit the holes, then twist. Now, if you want to try the approach I tried, I took two scratch awls, inserted in the holes, and gave em a big simo whannng... (I'm not kidding, but this was many years ago) It came off but the gouge I put in my dash made me want to cry. I now own the tool....

Re: Ignition Switch Removal
Take a small flathead screwdriver holding it at a angle to (push) or turn and tap lightly with a small hammer to turn it,that should work.

Re: Ignition Switch Removal
Do the paperclip trick while turning the ignition switch.... may have to play with it but should come right out.

Re: Ignition Switch Removal
Guess what! I got it out!
Drilled out the two holes with a 1/8 bit, then used a pic to push down on the small brass pin. Thanks for all of your help!
