Aftermarket gauge panels
Anybody ever use these?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevy-Truck-...ht_4139wt_1159 My truck came with aftermarket gauges, but they look like crap, because they are attached to the stock panel, and are angled down. You can't really read them. |

Re: Aftermarket gauge panels
If it were me...I'd just make angled spacers to install on the stock panel. With the right amount of work, it would look not much different than stock, and would cost a lot less than the aftermarket panel.

Re: Aftermarket gauge panels
here are some better pics of the gauges angled up so you can read them, I plan on using fiberglass & painting the panel once I get around to the interior
the smaller gauges you can get the angle pods from Autometer the bigger gauges I used PVC pipe couplers cheap and simple enough and the gauges are solid dont move around |

Re: Aftermarket gauge panels
All of those are good ideas, but I like the simplicity and cleanliness of the panel. The whole theme of this truck is going to be simple, clean and functional.

this one is angled a "little" but your not going to be happy with it I like you hated the fact I could not read the gauges correctly and looked a while gave up and done it my self its not all that good looking right now but a little filler and paint should look nice http://www.ebay.com/itm/73-87-Chevy-...item3f0d1a304f |

Re: Aftermarket gauge panels
I called the manufacturer of those panels, and all of them are inset/angled like the black one you showed. I am afraid that I am going to drop the coin and be disappointed. Yours doesn't look bad by any means. Looks better than the one I have got currently, But I just don't want the gauges sticking out that far. If I do it with a stock panel, I will figure out how to put them behind the panel.

Re: Aftermarket gauge panels
I've been up close to a couple of trucks with the gauges behind the panel I was not a fan of that either the trucks i seen you was not able to see the whole gauge face the rings was covering a little of the numbers on the speedometer and tach and you have to use the smaller speedometer and tach, the smaller gauges (oil, fuel etc.) was ok, the angle of the gauges was good though

Re: Aftermarket gauge panels
This is a install of that gauge panel http://www.sporttruck.com/techarticl...c10/index.html If they are not right there is gauge angle rings that will point them up more for you.
