Did GM ever use stainless trim on window sweeps (see pics)?
Just installed all new door weatherstrip on my green K10 (thanks GMC Pauls) with sweeps that have stainless trim (see pic). With an eye now toward the K20 build I'm curious to know if GM ever made sweeps with stainless trim as the NOS set I bought lacks the trim. Both are Cheyennes and the K20 doesn't have sweeps with trim as you can see in the pic but the K10 sweeps had disappeared long ago. No luck on a board search of prior related posts. Thanks, Pete

My 68' and 70' trucks are originals, they have no chrome strip. My 72' k-20 custom deluxe had them only on the inside anti rattle felt.

Re: Did GM ever use stainless trim on window sweeps (see pics)?
Thanks for the follow-up. Both my Cheyennes have only black metal on the inner felt fuzzies, no stainless and I suspect the fuzzies are original. Puzzling. Anyone else have stainless OEM sweeps or seen NOS sweeps with stainless trim?

Good to know. I like the look of the stainless trim. The aftermarket brand I got was "Repop" and I believe they are US made.

I was wonderin about this, too. Mine are all black and probably original. Does anyone know of a vendor that sells decent replacements black only ???
