02 Burb rattle noise when cold
I have been getting this weird rattle noise that sounds like it is coming form the trans (because it only happens when it shifts gears) but it only happens first thing in the morning when the truck is still cold. After driving a few blocks or after i let the truck warm up....the noise goes away and stays away all day long till the next morning. Kind of sounds like the Catalytic converter rattling if that makes any sense but it is pretty loud and annoying.... anybody else ever have this happen on their truck?

Bang on the cats when its cold. I have seen some where the ceramic inside the cat will break loose inside the pipe and rattle like that. Also the exhaust mount on the RH of the trans, the rubber isolator like to pop out on those as well. Thats where I would start.

Re: 02 Burb rattle noise when cold
Yeah but i don't think it is the Cat, because if it was..the stuff in the cat would rattle through out the day. It only rattles when it is cold and then goes away once it is warm and it only rattles when the trans shifts gears. It sounds more like the Cat cover rattling or vibrating but i am counting that out too for the same reason, it would rattle through out the day...why does it only rattle when it is cold?
