Ok were are the guys that speak "rim" will they fit?
I really didn't want to post a "will these fit on my truck post"
BUT... I am... I get the hole +/- offset thing and back spacing... I found the chart and the diagrams... but the rims I'm looking at list things like +18 or -34 (which I assume is in MM) but I don't have my truck. So really it does me no good. I'm thinking about running American Racing "Nova" (VN701) Front 18x9 (offset options +24, +35, +45) Back 20x10 (offset options +18, +35) or a 20x11 +18 on my 1980 stepside, the truck will be bagged with a small C notch. no bed mods. no fender mods. I'm not trying to lay it out, just as low as it will set and want to keep the tires under my fenders. Any input? which offset? Anyone running these rims? any input on tire size? I'd like to add a little more rubber on back. + = ?????

The 18x9's need a 6" BS. (+25mm offset)
The 20x10s need at least a 5.5" BS. (0mm offset) Looks like you could run a +24mm offset up front,... but the rear +18mm offset is going to require you to run spacers. (or tub the bedside) Remember,... the stepside beds don't have quite as much room at the fleetside beds.

A +18mm on a 10" wide rim is about a 6.25" BS. You need about a 5.5" BS. (that's only a 3/4" spacer,... which I don't think anyone makes) Maybe a 1" spacer would work. Like I also say,... don't take my word for it. Break out your tape measure and measure for yourself. Here's member hot trux' '85 stepside. These are 20x9.5's with a 5" BS and a 295/40-20 tire on the back.

I thought this might be a good learning point for others prior to ordering their wheels.
Measure and when you think you've got the right numbers, do it two more times. (If not more...)

You could always have a 3/4" wheel spacer made that was hub and wheel centric through these guys www.motorsport-tech.com I would install longer studs though. Don't buy cheap adapters, you get what you pay for. And your life would be depending on that cheap product holding your wheels on.

I like a little more backspacing, (5.5" BS) and bagged trucks I like 5.75" backspacing. If your truck has a Dropmember or a set of a-arms that narrow the front track width,... you have to re-think these numbers. Wider front rims make the backspace numbers different yet. It's all a matter of personal preference, when it comes to how far you "tuck" the wheel.

Nice wheel I won't comment on the spacing because when I shop for plumbing it takes 5 trips to the hardware store for two fittings.

The link that lolife posted, the problem with those is they are not wheel and hub centric. Its important that the wheel be hubcentric so you wont have vibration issues. Basically you would just be relying on the lugs to keep the wheels centered, if you hit a big enough pot hole the wheel can become off center on the lugs. Plus the cheaper Chinese have cracked before.
The link I posted (www.motorsport-tech.com) Can make your adapters/spacers both hub and wheel centric. They will cost more but its worth it for piece of mind. Plus they wont break on you.
