Chart compartment 67-68 chevy pickUp
I am hoping for some direction from someone on this website. I am restoring a 67 chevy 4WD and have a pair of 67-68 buckets and the full length bracket-mount that the seats and a chart compartment/armrest were mounted on. I am looking for any information where I can find one of these. It is referenced in the 67-72 factory assembly manual and I believe it was available in 67 and 68 before the plastic console. It looks to be a metal box structure with a small seat-armrest on top of it. Classic industries actually sells the seat cover set that includes new covers for the two buckets and this armrest/compartment. Can anyone give me a hand finding one to restore and recover? Thanks

Re: Chart compartment 67-68 chevy pickUp
WELCOME!!!You are looking for what is commonly called a Buddy bucket set up.Sit down when you price it.They tend to be spendy. To find a good frame and rebuild can easily run over $1500.You can search the classifieds for one,but they tend to go quick. If you're only looking for the Console/chart compartment you may run into the same problem since if it's a complete set no one will want to seperate and I don't recall seing just that part loose anywhere. Good luck and post some pics of your project.

Re: Chart compartment 67-68 chevy pickUp
I see parts for 67/68 buckets for sale on the parts board from time to time. No one offers reproduction replacement parts. That box could easily be fabricated. You say you have one. Is it in rough shape? Rusted out? Use that as a model.

Re: Chart compartment 67-68 chevy pickUp
Thanks so far for the advice. I dont have an old one for a model, I wish I did. I have the seat frame(the portion that bolts to the floor and holds the seats and the buddy bucket. I have the two bucket seats(they need to be recovered)> I just need the center piece, the buddy bucket or chart compartment as its called in the assembly manual. If worse came to worse maybe I could buy it with the seats and then sell my stuff. I would rather buy the buddy bucket unit by itself. Can anyone send me some pictures of this actual piece so I can have a look at it. I will post some pictures on here soon, Thanks

Re: Chart compartment 67-68 chevy pickUp
The complete unit is what people are calling buddy buckets. They are the 67/68 bucket seats. You were correct in your terminology. So,you are after the whole center seat including the chart compartment. Someone will probably offer up a picture, before, but I'll get one in the morning.
