Mechanical to electric spedo
I want to convert my mechanical spedo to a electric spedo because im going to install a new custom cluster and autometer doesnt make a mechanical spedo in the series of guage i want to use.
I have seen links before to gears that convert the mechanical signal to electric but cant seem to find one now. Im running a TH 400 trans and a 208 transfer case but will be running a 205 by the time i do this swap so if the gears are differant i will need one for a 205 t case. Thanks guys!

Re: Mechanical to electric spedo
I'm going Autometer also. Look on their website. They have a unit to convert from mechanical to electric. It simply screws n the cable connection at the tranny and gets wired from there.

Re: Mechanical to electric spedo
the good things about the digital is that you can change tire size and gear ratio from the software of most units.

Re: Mechanical to electric spedo
you can just get a VSS that bolts in place of the cable and run the raw VSS signal into the new electric speedo. auto meter electric speedos are programable so youd just program it for the raw VSS signal.
