WTB: 67-68 shortbed truck
Looking for a 67-68 GMC or Chevy shortbed fleetside two wheel drive truck. looking to buy in the next month or so. close to rust free as possible, However, a truck with nice patina would be great.
No motor/trans is fine as I have my own. Needs to have a good frame, but suspension is unimportant as long as it rolls. Prefer east coast and as close to New England as possible. I know it's a tall order, but I'd like to see what's out there. Thanks in advance Last edited by Rochlow; 12-14-2011 at 01:37 PM. |

Re: WTB: 67-68 shortbed truck
so you want something in original paint, not something that's been restored??

Re: WTB: 67-68 shortbed truck
It has 3/4 ton axles, the truck is actually in REALLY rough shape and lots of rust. I was going to buy this truck and another short fleet he had for sale for $1500 but the frame was bent and he acted like he didn't know but I could tell he was just hoping I wouldn't see it.

Re: WTB: 67-68 shortbed truck
Great looking truck. However, I'm sure it's out of my price range.

Re: WTB: 67-68 shortbed truck
I may be interested in selling my 67 short fleet. It has the original 292 and 4 speed manual transmission. I pulled front sheet metal when I pulled the 292 to replace all the gaskets. I did a compression check before pulling it and all the cylinders were strong. The cab is rusty but I have a replacement 67 CST cab that only has one rust pin hole in the passenger rocker. The hood and grill is perfect but the fenders have some bumps and rust. The bed is completely straight and the tailgate is perfect. I swapped a 72 front crossmember and rear axle with rally wheels onto it. I've bought a couple really rare options to add to the truck like 292 power steering, a 6 cylinder tac/vac dash, 4 speed manual tilt column, and speed warning speedometer. i had a set of 5 lug rally wheels, bumpers, grill hoops and grill inserts all powder coated in white and I was planning to paint the truck hugger orange. I've been piling up parts for this truck for years but I've shifted my focus to my other truck for now. If you have a different engine and trans to put in a truck then this one probably isn't the right one for you but just thought I'd throw it out there.

Re: WTB: 67-68 shortbed truck
Thanks, Mahanian. I do have a new motor and trans. Plus, shipping it here from AZ would be a killer.
I think I've found a pretty nice 69 that I might convert to a 67 GMC front ent, but I want to see whatelse is out there before I jump. Last edited by Rochlow; 12-14-2011 at 02:07 PM. |
