67-68 side trim on a 69-72?
I got this idea from a post in the suspension side, I was wondering if any one else has put 67-68 side trim on a 69-72. If so please post pics. What I'd really like to see is a 69-72 upper trim and 67-68 lower trim on a 69-72. Anyway here is the post that got me thinking.......

its not a new idea Most guys that did it back is the late 80's thought it broke up the body paint lines better and it went with the body lines

I like it on what it came on. Don't care for the mix & match either. To me trim is a factory thing,so I like it as factory. Custom to me is getting away from factory trim and giving your own accents.

Re: 67-68 side trim on a 69-72?
I don't think the side trim is mix and match. Either the earlier style (which I prefer) or none. The upper/lower trim that was for the '69-72's doesn't look bad with the two-tone paint that has the roof and the center the same color with the trim on top and bottom of the accent color. But (my opinion) a solid color with both trims (mine was black) would look better with the earlier style. Painting the lower part of the body, beneath the earlier trim, is reminiscent of the "Sport Two-tone" paint schemes of the Seventies/Eighties...as long as it is a coordinating color. But, on the rear, I prefer the later (69-72) trim, even with the earlier side trim.
But, my truck will have no side trim.

Been thinking about this also but only using the 67-68 trim on my single color 69 c10.I like the clean, simple look must its needs just alittle "bling".No upper trim just lower 67-68.

You may want to ask someone that does photoshopping to do one for you.
If a little bling is preferred there are lots of chrome parts that are "age appropriate" for the 69-72 trucks. They can really make them shine without making them look gaudy. Chrome trim for the windshield, window, drip rail and door looks good. Also chrome bumpers and grill. Here's an old pic from an old ebay truck someone posted. Not the same chrome trim but gives one an idea... |

That's what I was thinking initially too. Then I started thinking, "I wonder what it would look like with the upper trim on there too."
