1972 Truck Parts Catalog

Question for those of you who have a parts catalog. I've seen editions from 1971, 1972, 1975, 1976 and 1979. Are there advantages to one over the other? Were parts or info dropped from the newer catalogs making the older catalogs better. Or did the newer catalogs show part interchangeability making them better? Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Re: 1972 Truck Parts Catalog

I believe the later editions,post-72,dropped off parts that had depleted. Supplements covered parts that superceded any that were depleted that had changeover equivalents. BUT...by '79 the parts for 67-72s were still available and the parts depleted were for the earlier models 20 or so years back, for the most part. I never checked a '79 book against and earlier book, but I'm pretty sure they will still have all these parts listed. Maybe someone has looked into this and can answer for sure.

Re: 1972 Truck Parts Catalog

Tim is correct.

The earlier the print date the better.
