Wheel backset question
I have a chance to buy some nice used 15x7 american racing torque thrust wheels for my 55 second series project. It has a 77 camaro clip installed level with frame. Two inch dropped spindles and 77 camaro rearend. Nice wheels but only have 3.75" backset. Measured the rear and came up with 3/4 to 1" clearance using 225 series tires. anyone have the measurement between inner fender edges on the front? Dont want a problem of tires rubbing front fenders while turning. Here is a pic of front with mockup wheel and without engine so ride height will be lower. Any thoughts?

Re: Wheel backset question
I don't think you will have a problem with those. That would give you 3-1/2 inches from the hub's surface to the outside lip on the wheel if my calculations are right and that isn't much more than the stock wheels. 7 inch rim 3-1/2" back spacing 3-1/2 to the outside. Centerline of tire centered on the mounting surface of the hub.
