Fuel Gauge at 3 o'clock?
I have a '71 K/5. Fuel gauge needle sits at 3 o'clock position. Just installed new 20 gallon poly tank with new sending unit etc. It read perfectly for 6 months now the fuel gauge needle sits at 3 o'clock position. Any ideas?

Re: Fuel Gauge at 3 o'clock?
I think it reads full if the gauge/sending unit wire's is grounded. I'd check that 1st.

Re: Fuel Gauge at 3 o'clock?
I think that the guage wire is a brown wire that runs down the driver side of the frame rail. I would trace it all the way back to the firewall. Also check the ground wire. I think 0 ohms reads empty and 90 reads full. I just replaced my float switch.

I had the same issue and it drove me nuts for weeks. Turned out that the float had fuel in it.
