Manual brakes?
I'm trying to decide what to go with power or manual brakes. Originally my truck was all drum and manual. Now I have disc on the front and am wondering if a booster is really needed? I only plan on dragging it, so any help would be appreciated.

I've been on the STUPID side of things so much that I'm not sure that I should answer at all....
Ran the 3000 pound Nova at 10.2's, 128mph ET on the original 4wheel drum brakes and single pot master cylinder. (probably the most foolish things I've done on the track,, ever) Run the truck with GM disks up front and Willwood disks on the rear and a PePBoys mastercylinder (all manual from a 73 base model pickup) Add a couple of decades, kids moving out, and being able to afford to be smarter,,, the truck still runs the same setup with a Jeggs house brand master cylinder (mopar clone) and nothing new. The Nova got a AJE front clip with Willwoods and Aerospace disks on the rear (and now about a second quicker) a Willwood master cylinder.... and a parachute,, still slows easily enough I only throw the chute at the end of each race so it has a fresh pack for the next race. The one time I needed it,,, it had been packed for 2 years and didn't deploy. (I learned) All that to say,, you don't need a vacuum booster. Just manual front disks will stop you so much better than the stock drum/drum setup you will be amazed.

I run full manual Willwood with a Willwood master, works great.

i have a strange master cylinder, wilwood front dics brakes, and aerospace rear dics brakes. (manual brakes) granted they havent stopped me on a pass at the track yet (truck is not track worthy yet) but after couple test launches on the street, they sure stopped it great.
