It's time for me to get the needed fasteners to put my truck back together.
I want to use SS for most everything. Does anyone know where I can get flanged SS bolts from. I don't want to buy a kit there over priced and I would like to pick the bolts I need.

I got most of my SS bolts from Lowes in the specialty section/hardware

you can also find engine, bed, etc SS fastner kits on ebay, etc.

I will give you a warning about stainless bolts. You have to be careful with some bolts coming from overseas nowadays. One thing you want know is if using a stainless bolt and stainless nut: sometimes they can seize together and twist-off. Im talking new stuff. I had a 1/2" nut seize on a bolt and i had to cut it off. Always use a "never-seize" product. I use the permatex brand. Some stainless bolts are hard to drill. I reccomend only using them in areas that are seen.

I have been down that road as well, I always use never-seize.

my Ace has a good selection. Check 'em out if you have one near by.

Hey farmer, I get most of my bolts from Parkrose Hardware which is an Ace Hardware affiliate. They have a huge selection of stainless. I really haven't looked for flange bolts but if they don't have them they can probably get them for you. They also have a selection of polished and chrome behind the counter if you ask.

My local Ace (Forest Grove) has a alot of stainless steel botls no flange bolts and they are prisey.

Next week the body comes home from the paint shop will be posting pictures.

It is my experience that stainless bolts are not nearly as strong as graded automotive bolts, keep that in mind. Should be OK for putting a bed together.

If you are looking for bolts for bed strips, search for carriage bolts. All the soureces listed so far are good.

I haven't bought stainless flange bolts, but I have bought plated steel flange bolts from Fastenal. You have to buy in package quantity from Fastenal, and they are on the pricey side in my experience.
