Auxillary Battery BOLTS?

Does anyone have pics of the original bolts for auxillary battery tray? Thanks!

Re: Auxillary Battery BOLTS?

. . . .

Here are pictures of a 69 Chevy 4X4 and a 69 GMC with an auxiliary battery.

I'm not sure if they are original bolts but the rest of the engine compartment looked pretty original.

Re: Auxillary Battery BOLTS?

Thanks for the pic. Are the bolts mounted with a nut on the back of the core support?

My tray was added during my trucks restoration, so a nut on the other side had to be used. Maybe someone else on here who has an original tray will know if there were welded nuts on the core support. As you can see in the pictures below, the one side of the tray is mounted to a three inch wide part of the core support that "sticks out" away from the main support ( probably for reinforcement ). I'm not even sure how my mechanic got a nut IN there !!!

Re: Auxillary Battery BOLTS?

Thanks alot again for the pics. Hopefully someone else chimes in if they were welded nuts originally on the back. My truck originally came with the aux batt according to the sticker in the glove box. But, it does not have welded nuts on the back.

Re: Auxillary Battery BOLTS?

Anyone else know if the core support had welded nuts for the aux batt from the factory? Thanks!

My 72 Custom Camper has a aux box, I'll look when I get home and let you know tonight or tomorrow.

Re: Auxillary Battery BOLTS?

I just took one off a '71 last week and the only bolt that had a loose nut was the lower outboard one. Looked original to me.

Re: Auxillary Battery BOLTS?

Looks to me like there is only one weld nut on mine.

Re: Auxillary Battery BOLTS?

Thanks all for the pics. One last favor, can one of you guys take a pic of the bolt and nut by itself? Thanks again!
