75 front with 67-72 rear?

alright, i have a 75 c10 2wd, and soon i am gonna be triangulated 4linking it, as i was talkin about my truck plans with a buddy who has a auto repair shop, and in the back, my other buddy has a repo shop, and in teh back, hes got a 67-72 truck in the back and also has one of the 73-87 trucks, both i can buy for parts trucks for not that much , but one of the guys was like "since you wanna 4link it, why not backhalf teh frame and have the 67-72 trailing arm setup in the rear, and the 75 setup in the front, so its a tad easier to bag the rear, and since im backhalfing it, not that much welding

the only thing in the back of my mind is will the 75 fleetside bed fit on the rear good, and just the basic stuff about brakelines and the driveshaft, IE will i have to make one longer or cut it down

it would be semi unique cause i dont know of many trucks that have done that, and it would be easy as hell to bag

instead of back-halfing the 75 frame, take the 67-72 frame and put the 75 fromnt crossmember on it to keep the disc brakes? would be much easier to just drill 2 holes in stead of cutting and welding a frame.

but then i gotta switch over cabs and the bed, because the only good thing on the 67-72 is the frame, other than that, its a PITA

is the 67-72 a longbed? if so, then you'd need to shorten it anyhow. if it is already a shortbed, then it wouldn't be that difficult to move the other cab over. couple of hours worth of work just to move it, then another couple to put everything back together. good weekend project

can't you put the 67-72 trailing arm set up on your 75 frame or is this impossible ... may require some welding

i don't see how the factory 2 link w/panhard bar is gonna be any help in making it a triangulated 4 link. you are not gonna wanna use the factory two link part for you out side links, you'll wanna use links with treaded ball ends not solid fixed mounts like on the factory setup.

no, the guys were with the idea, instead of installing a 4 link, why not get this truck for dirt cheap and just weld on the factory 2 link

oh ok, i get it. you just wanna use the factory 2 link setup off an older truck. honestly, with the kits out there right now, if you can weld then its probly gonna be easier to just 4 link your truck than try all kinds of frame combining or swaps, plus you'll like the 4 link better. air ride sells 4 link kits specifically for these trucks with the bars already set to lenght, so if you can weld a bracket on the farme your set. thats the best way to go imo. at least untils kp components comes out with a bolt on 4 link leverage arm system for these trucks
