kicking a dead horse? IROC steering conversion
so from my searches the general consensus is that our trucks have the same steering boxes as most other 3rd gen g body and f body cars just the mounting is on oppisite sides
IT WAS MENTIONED that it MAY be possible to transfer the internals of a quick ratio IROC stearing box into our trucks after that was said there has been no word again about it being done or any mention so has anybody rebuilt a steering box on either vehicles? camaro or truck im half expecting keith to chime on this since he was an assembly line guy right now if this can be done I will be providing the conversion as a service when I become a supporting member in march http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...PSTERAMS_____#

No you can't. Our boxes are I believe Saginaw 808 and not the 800 put in passenger cars. The pistons are different sizes.

Re: kicking a dead horse? IROC steering conversion
I found a guy that can change our steering boxes to 2.75 turns lock to lock for around $225 with a core. I decided against it when I went with drag radials on the rear. I don't have that number saved on this computer but may still have it at home if you want me to look it up.

Re: kicking a dead horse? IROC steering conversion
I found it. Here's what I got from a search and inquiry in Nov 2009.
We can custom build a 2.75 turn box for $225 plus $75 core deposit. It would take a few days to build. Feel free to contact us with further questions or to order. Thanks, Scott 1-800-399-7845 sales@CarSteering.com www.CarSteering.com |

The guy at AGR shot me a price of $300 if I picked it up and brought him a core. They make the 12.7 gears themselves. I think the only used part is the housing.

Re: kicking a dead horse? IROC steering conversion
That was a long time ago. I have a kid and my truck the kid rent and all else comes first. $25 is a week of gas for me lol. I'm planning on getting my products going but a lathe failure has set me back big time
