1971 Cheyenne C10 SWB Factory BBC

Here are a couple pictures of my 1971 Chevy Cheyenne C10 that I have had since 1997. I purchased this truck instead of a new 1997 Chevy 4x4 and it might have been one of the smarter investments I have made. This truck was a daily driver from 1997 to 1999 and 2000 to 2004. Was originally a LWB from Oklahoma and made into a SWB right before I purchaed it. The bed is original along with the steel floor that was cut and butt welded. I removed the numbers matching 402 (but I still have it in a crate) with another big block, replaced the original 411 gears with 308 and rebuilt the turbo 400. This is a factory AC, PS, PB. Has factory tach and I added a vacum guage last year. The truck has been painted once in 1997. I lowered the truck after I bought it in 1997 with springs, shock and new panhard bar. Wheels are COYs 18x8 on front 18x9.5 on rear which I found a picture on this website and helped me make up my mind. The ultimate would be to replace the metal floor with wood. Thanks for looking there are so many nice trucks on this site. Mike

Re: 1971 Cheyenne C10 SWB Factory BBC

Okay I picked up a 71 or 72 12 bolt posi 3:08 gears for I think it was $100 or $125 a few months back. Sometime everyone can run across a deal. Thanks for all the comments on the truck I do really appreciate it.

Re: 1971 Cheyenne C10 SWB Factory BBC

Your truck reminds me of the Early Classic Enterprises truck.
They used it to showcase their C20 to C10 drop spindles.
They also cut it down from a lwb truck to a swb truck.
Do you think it could be the same truck?

It is not the same truck. The ECE truck is now owned by local boardmember oldskool71 (Ron) here in So Cal.

Beautiful truck and welcome to the board Mike!

We need to get that thing at some of the MO shows.

Might try to make it to Magic Dragon at the Lake of the Ozarks. Should be April 27-29 with the 28th being the day you don't want to miss.
