Re: 55-60 mph shake
I'll bump this back up. I have a couple of ideas but I'm not sure on this. The idler arm could be bad causing the shake, but the front end guy that aligned it should have caught that. What about tire balance, a bad tire or out of balance tire could cause this easy. As far as the PS turning on it's own that's a new one on me. Take the belt off the PS pump and drive it and see if it still shakes. Yes it will be harder than heck to steer, but might help you figure out if you have 2 issues or one causing it. You can adj the steering box, on top of it there is a nut with a set screw inside it.

Re: 55-60 mph shake
Yup...had this happen a while back. Just constantly shook, annoying as all get out. Went and had the tires looked at. One of the threw a weight. Rotated, rebalanced, and no shake.

Re: 55-60 mph shake
How does your center link look? Did the mechanic who aligned the truck mention anything about it. Because if there's any ware or vibration in that center link alignment wont be correct at all. And because it connects both sides.. that could be a possibility...
