Post WTB: Crossmember/4X4/TH400/205

Want to purchase a crossmember for TH400/NP205 w/o catalytic converters. Am installing in 69 but need unit from later model since using '77 front driveshaft which has larger CV joint than old style. Hope this isn't too confusing. Thanks, Gary

Gary, have you spent any time over at www.ColoradoK5.com ? They have some informative boards and lots of parts for sale. I found out some neat stuff about my '78 K10 SWB. Hope this helps.

Fast, my '69 came with what I think is called the Rockwell style CVJ wherejoint at the end bolts directly to the front output shaft of the transfer cse (came with the Rockwell T-case). The Saginaw style unit as used in the '77 I got it from uses a flange connected to that last universal joint that then bolts to the t-case. THis CVJ is larger in diameter than the one originally on the truck. Italso doesn't clear the crossmember. I have modified the crossmember to see what general shape I will need and it looks a lot like a unit my friend had in his '79 K30 with TH400. Thats why I'm looking for that crossmember and as far as I can tell from measurements he sent it should be correct width. Always helps to share info. Thanks, Gary
