What would You Do ?
My 68 GMC 1500 is a stripper, no nothing except WSW tires, it did come with a heater but has since been removed. The first owner was given the truck as a retirement gift when he left the company he worked for. He seldom drove it because of bad health, his daughter put about 65k on it before she gave it to me when her father passed. My question is It came with no inside rearview mirror ? You can tell it never had a mirror because the inside of the roof of the cab has no holes drilled and it still has the original windshield with no glued on mount for a mirror ? When I drive it people always ask what the f%#@ happened to your mirror inside ? I want to keep it a stripper do I drill or not ?....Thanks

Well in the vein of more safety; you may want to add a windshield-mounted style which can always be removed later to keep you "As from the Factory." If it never came with one and there are no holes there, I wouldn't drill it. This way you can have both options.

^ I'm with Music Man,no sense in drilling a rust spot in a truck if you don't need to.The windsheild mount will work fine and be esily removed.

Re: What would You Do ?
I agree with the others, just mount a 72 style stick on.
BTW, my wrecker was sold as a cab/chassis when new and never had the mirror either. (no holes)

Re: What would You Do ?
I glued an inside mirror to the windshield on my flatbed, and I'd bet 99.9% of the people that see the truck don't even notice it. Now that it's there, I'd sure miss it if I took it off. Just follow the package directions carefully.

Re: What would You Do ?
Mines a "stripper" and doesn't bother me to drive it that way. So I'm gonna leave it that way. Besides I enjoy all the wtf questions! Lol

Re: What would You Do ?
Thanks to all who posted a reply ! I was thinking about trying to locate a late model mirror with a compass and thermometer in it. But how do you get power to it with out wires running all over the inside of cab ?
