How to achieve the stance I want
These pics show how my truck currently sits. Can I achieve a raked stance just by using lower springs in the front and a block kit in the rear...If so, any suggestions on springs and what size block to get to make it look just alittle meaner

She looks pretty level, but here goes.... You can cut 1 full ring off the bottom of the front coils, for a 2-2 1/2" drop. That is as far as I would go on the spring . You might try a 1" block in the rear, & see how that stands. If you want the truck lower, you will need to use a drop spindle/spring combo up front, & a drop spring , or spring /block combo in the rear. Best of fun,crazyAL

Or replace the coils with bags and set any height you want.
But to start, get a 3" block for the back and cut a coil off the front. That would cut down the amount of wheel well showing in the back as well as give you a slightly more raked stance for a few hours work and on the cheap.

I agree that cutting a coil is a good economical start, but you have some pretty wide tires and wheels up front. I think I would try cutting a half coil first and see how it sits. If you don't have any clearance issues cut another half coil.
Drop blocks are good for the rear, but you don't want more than a 2" block. Any more will cause scrubline concerns with those 15" wheels.

I agree with n2trux. I actually think your truck has a good rake to it as is, and lowering will just reveal the rake more.
I'd cut the coils before buying springs and get 2" blocks for the rears.

How low do you want to go?
I'd start with a drop spindle and a half coil out of the front. 3" drop spring in the rear. If you want more, take another half coil out of the front. That'll take some of the gap out between the top of the tire and the fender lip.

This is sorta the look I am hoping to achieve....What do you guys think about lowering the front and leaving the back as it is, but going with 15 in. wheels like on the front and a taller size wheel /tire combination on the back. Anyone ever done this or seen it done?

I would just swap the springs with the desired height in the front and if you have leaf springs I would just add a 2 inch block in the rear, the ride with a cut spring is harsh been there done that, a set of springs are $100.00 and you are done.

What did you do wrong Al? I have had many sets of cut springs and never felt the ride was harsh. It does firm it up a bit from stock, but I wouldn't consider it too firm. Personally I have had more ride quality problems with aftermarket springs than I have with cut springs.

You cant really do anything wrong by cutting the spring with a cutting wheel which is what I did. Here is a picture of my old cut spring and the new lowering spring back in 08.

You changing wheels, etc. ? I agree, you're not going to be able to go too low (more than about 2-3in in the front) with the wider tires up front. What wheel do you like? I'll throw them on your truck for you. Coys? What would you put on it if you did ?

JBranon - the problem you might run into by cutting the springs .. it makes them shorter. Seriously .. if you cut too much off (more than one turn) the spring will actually come out of the LCA / UCA if you're jumping hills and stuff. (Dukes of Hazzard) Just normal daily driving you'd probably be ok but still .. cut them 1/2 turn, see how you like it, .. if you want more, cut more. If you take a full turn and it's too much (you're scrubbing your tires, etc.) then what. ..
The problem I ran into with dropped springs is lets say you purchase a 2" drop spring that's NEW, it will still sit about the same height as a 40yr old standard height spring just due to age and over time they sag. I noticed you have 5 lug, .. looks like discs. I'd do spindles man. Really, I would. Keeps your stock ride, stock spring height, stock alignment, shocks .. etc. All you're doing is changing the spindle height. It's much easier than pulling the springs out, you do it once and you're done. just my opinion. You have a leaf spring rear?

I have to agree that a drop spindle is the best route to go(if it fits the budget) I had planned a drop spindle for my longhorn, but cut the coils @ the time. After driving it , I had no issues with handle or ride....so she never got the spindles! 1 full ring off the bottom gave me 2 1/2" drop, & with a 1 1/2" body drop, she was low enough to suit me. Anybody that has rode in my truck have always commented on the ride.....they could not beleive that it would ride that good, as low as it was setup on a static drop! crazyL

Slam it man !! (kidding) This is a bit more than a 2" spindle drop, but .. just sayin. Good looking truck regardless but my vote would be 2 or maybe 2.5" dropped spindles. Cut springs or even new dropped springs would be cheaper but it's more work, and don't foget you'll need an alignment if you cut the springs. ($75-100) If you do spindles, you keep the same ride plus there's no need for alignment. Occasionally you can find some on the forum for sale. Ex someone with a static drop going with bags, or a different style arms.

Don't mind at all, but ..
With 1" in the front and 2" over the tire in the back I'm not sure you'll be able to run your same tire / wheel combo. It looks great like it is, please don't misunderstand but if you're going to drop it I think I'd consider a different tire / wheel combination. For example with the drop, turning into Sonic on a Friday night and the truck gets in somewhat of a 'twist' going into the parking lot or .. up a driveway or something you may be hitting the tops of your tires on the lip of the fenders. I can drop it to show you what it would look like .. it's your truck but .. just sayin.
