Mystery connector on block?
Im nearing the end of my 350 rebuild, I have it all assembled and in and just have to set the distributor in then its ready to go but first I need to know what connects to in the black box in the picture below?
Not my engine by the way, just using it to illustrate. |

looks like an oil PSI sender for a dummy light. if it looks like a big can its for a gauge.

yup looks like a oil idiot sensor to me too
i changed from idiots to tach/gauges in the fall used these
