I am converting my 70 blazer from a 4 to 2 wheel drive but using the trailing arm 2 wd rear suspension. I want to run a back seat but also want to bag it and drop it. I dont really need to lay the frame on the deck but want it to be low at ride height. How much notch can i run without cutting out the bed floor?

measure how much taller your pumkin on the rearend is from the top of the axel, the measure from the bottom of the frame from the front side of the axel to the bottom of the rear floor (you might have a cross brace in your way) then subtract first messurement from second messurement. and thats how much room you have but you also have to add in the new notch you will have to add and i meen the new frame part you will have to add and thats not really a whole lot of room....if your not planning on laying the frame then you could prob get away with a simple small c-notch where it bolts on and you only cut out a part of the frame. it all depends on how big of rims and tires your running

A simple c notch might be the way to go for me. How do all these guys that are laying the frame still have a backseat. Can a passenger sit in the back seat without hitting their heads on the top? I wouldnt mind cutting the floor if thats possible.

I notch mine about 3 inches and the rear end hits the floor.

If you get the CPP bolt in notches, they have an adjustable bump stop on them that you can set so the pumpkin won't hit the floor. I took out the bump stops and cut a hole in the floor for the pumpkin to come through...it's under the seat so no one can see it.

As for laying and keeping a back seat, it's usually not the stock rear bench they are using and it's pushed really far forward to it's not so tall.

The best one I've ever seen with a stock bench in the stock location is gringoloco's previous rig. It doesn't lay frame but gets an awesome stance:
