Re: 68 camaro a mix of old and new
so now knowing that a 6 cyl car also needs different mounts i ordered some
and put in my test motor to see how it was going to do also i decided i wanted an 11in clutch why? idk just to have it so i had to search for a bellhousing but i test fitted everything and i dont see any problems and yes its a 355 sbc sy1 crossram and new school valve covers and it looks soooo good and big it also has 292 angle plug heads that fit the headers so i will run them too then the pics of the rebuild of the 355 the ceramic headers fit very well too just need to find some short water pump brackets to mount the power steering and i have to run a cowl for that intake what does everyone think? it just seems the parts fit and look good

also i got the summit exhaust kit and thrush mufflers the welded one cause they sound sooooooo good and they arent too bad on your wallet and a video

Re: 68 camaro a mix of old and new
Things are looking good! I have to buy a new passenger fender for my car, and I wasn't sure who to go through to buy one that fit well. Are you happy with the fit of the fenders? And how much were they?

Re: 68 camaro a mix of old and new
I've never heard of AMD, who sells them? I've been looking at National Parts Depot to get all of my metal, been recommended by a lot of people, but I'm not sure what "brands" they carry.
Also curious as to why you swapped out the stockers for aftermarket? Rust? Car looks awesome. I'm collecting parts for my rust bucket 67 firebird. The floor and back half of the car will be all aftermarket except the deck lid. I was able to find solid doors and fenders after a few trips to the Charlotte Autofair.

Re: 68 camaro a mix of old and new
haha the car had on brand new gm nos fenders i just decided i could sell them and buy more parts and there was nothing wrong with them just too much for my car since im gonna drive it
and AMD is carried by a lot of people but i know for these camaros the front end sheetmetal is right on the money and i would recommend them to anyone and you can see how nice they fit with only messing with them 10 mins to get the parts out of the floor

Re: 68 camaro a mix of old and new
Thanks. Yeah, I can understand that! NOS stuff for these cars is nuts! I wish my car was as far along as yours. I haven't even started my tear down yet.
I also checked out their website. They're only about 2 hours from me. They imply that their parts are US produced but I couldn't find anywhere where they state that. Their prices are competitive with NPD, a little higher, but competitive. hmmmmmmmmmm...
