While the truck sits idle

While my truck is on hold (saving up for the big money items, brakes, fuel tank, parts for the wrecker i really need) I been tinkering with my other hobby, i have more than one, more like 20 but thats another story.

I used to have 10 of these in various forms, trucks, cars, buggys, after i got divorced i was forced to sell of most them, but i kept a select few.

They are Bergonzoni's. Made in Italy, these are mid 90's cars. The buggy is 1990, and the Braves (the name of the car) are 95-96 vintage. Bergonzoni had been around a while over across the pond, but you don't see many in the US.They were bought out by Dynamic racing, they built a cheaper version, its a nice car, but the original is better. Bergonzoni is now back up and running and building their own cars again. There were a bunch of dealers in the 90s in FLA, CA and Canada as i understand it. I bought my first one (the blue chassis) in 99, it had a beat up honda body, and i rebuilt it, parts where not to hard to find. Its a blast to drive, 1/5 scale, 35 pounds, 23cc Boss reed plate motor, 4hp, gear drive 4 wheel disc brakes.

Problam is now, parts are really hard to find. I bought the buggy 3 years ago of ebay cause i'd only seen 2, it was trashed, frame was bent, engine mount stripped, carb broken. It came with a bag of new parts, so it was worth the amount i paid. But i have been 2.5 years trying to find parts. I emailed Bergonzoni in Italy, but they dont' have the parts i need (gas tank, radio tray) so i have disassembled the buggy, gonna straighten the frame, build a motor mount, and try to find a exhaust pipe.
Thanks for lookin!

Re: While the truck sits idle

They run 45-60 mph, which is a lot for a car weighing this much. And they can get very expensive. I had to order a gear and shaft from italy, it was more than $100.
The cars new where $2k now you can find them used for $300 and up. Loud and lots of fun.

Re: While the truck sits idle

I noticed on the blue chassie you have a side pipe coming off the stinger ive toyed around with that idea on my smaller cars and i dont think it made much of a difference was that how it came or an ad on you did? did you notice a difference with/without? i really couldent imagine what it must cost too keep them up n running even with out any kinda crashing/thrashing going on

Re: While the truck sits idle

They are all piped that way, the silver one just doesnt hav a pipe at the moment. They make 2 pipes, one stock one tuned, the tuned is super loud, and fast.
The both have 4 wheel discs. They are only 2wd. And they best thing to do is not hit anything. Lol

Re: While the truck sits idle

Cool! I like the 4 wheel disc brakes. Have you seen the new Traxxas car that can do 100 mph out of the box? That thing is insane!
