Re: vette gauges in stock dash
I got to thinking about that a few times and thought it would look cool and I think size-wise they are close. Mid-year vette gauges get pretty spendy though. Go for it!......someone's gotta be the 1st!

Re: vette gauges in stock dash
10 years ago (file date on the pictures is 2002) I put a 1971 Monte Carlo speedo in a truck bezel. Fit like a glove. You can see in the picture that the speedo came from an auto car so it has a cutout for the PRNDLL indicator. If you had one out of a factory manual car, and polished the stock truck numbers off the back of the plastic, you'd never know it wasn't stock.
And it goes to 120 verses 100 on the stock truck speedo. I recently saw a Chevelle SS complete dash for sale on craigslist. The ad claimed it was out of manual car. Chevelle SS = Monte stock when it comes to dashes so I know the parts are out there. My Monte cluster is the non-tach version. I bet if a guy got his hands on a Monte/Chevelle SS cluster with a tach he could make a killer, stock looking setup.
