Caught in the rain!
I know it's out of season, at least it is here . Anyways I was organizing some pics tonight and came across these. They are from two summers ago. The wife and I were out on a very nice day for a little cruise. We were driving on the freeway when the skies just opened up and it started pouring. There was no where to pull over for cover, so we just kept going. No different than a ride on the bike I guess.

Nice! Makes you wish there were wipers on the inside of the windshield, as it's usually as wet as the outside!

Re: Caught in the rain!
lol I used to go every where with the top off during winter. I got caught in ice rain, thunder storms etc many of times driving down south to haul vehicles back up. People would pull up beside me on the highway and ask me if I realized it was raining outside. Cold trips but easier to tow with no top haha

Re: Caught in the rain!
Albertans usualy only buy convertables if they visit the okanagan alot.
I got caught in a down pour once and i drove under the roof of a road side fruit stand. Drivers were giving me weird looks. You can watch the weather go up and down the valley, and i could tell it would end in a couple minutes. Not like Langley or Edmonton where it lasts 9 months

Re: Caught in the rain!
Not much you can do. If there's shelter, take it. If not, keep on driving

Re: Caught in the rain!
dont use some fancy material in your interior, go marine grade for water and uv protection. I would rather get caugh with no top in a down pour on the road than a windy down pour on the water

Re: Caught in the rain!
Yep, and that's another reason why I don't bother taking the roof off. Not just rain worries, but as dusty as it is around here, it would turn that white interior brown in no time flat. I don't even want to think about trying to clean the fabric part.

Re: Caught in the rain!
Yeah, it's dusty depending on where you go. Seems we have to wash the car every 3-4 days for dust, or at the very least feather dust it, and they stay in the garage even. The paved roads are even dusty, I don't want to talk about the dirt roads
Monsoon season is hit or miss pop up showers from June to about August or so. 99% of the time there just isn't much rain around here though. |

Re: Caught in the rain!
haha. i lived in the kansas settlement area near willcox, and the dirt roads were horrible. the 82 is black and it was impossible to take it out without getting it dirty lol. but now in nebraska during the summer thunder storms will pop up out of nowhere. now that i have to resto nearly done im not wanting to get it wet/dirty at all.

Re: Caught in the rain!
Yep. Most of the time we only drive on the dirt when we want to.
Mainly just recreational driving up in the mountains at the old mining towns but that's just occassional, and definately not when it's raining. 90% of the time I spend on paved roads and avoid the dirt at all costs so I don't have an unexpected trip to the car wash, even if it means making a u-turn |
