Re: Door striker plate paint or no paint ?

I'm pretty sure they came a semi-gloss black from the factory. Or even a flat black. I have been wondering the same thing about color or not and have taken to lookin' at a lot of photos on the net.

Hopefully someone more knowledgable will chime in.

My 69 was non-painted with a natural dull black color, similar to black phosphate bolts, from the factory. If you elect to paint them, I'd go flat or semi-flat.

Re: Door striker plate paint or no paint ?

Now that you blasted them, they need a new process done to them, like cadium or parkerized or whatever. Unlike a finish like paint or powder coat, these processes get into the surface of the metal, not onto it. Since this is a wear part, any finish will chip off
