Questions - Help about 1970 2WD Blazer

I was recently parked at a cruise area for hotrods in San Diego and some guy walked up very excited about my blazer and wanted to see inside my glove box and inside my drivers door. He said everything was correct as a 2WD Blazer but mine has all the markings of a 1969 even tho they did not make a 1969 2WD. iNSIDE OF DOOR SAYS June of 1970 inside the door that it must have retained all that was 1969 before they switched to all the stuff in 1970 ????
How else would I know or check for?
Since they only built 985 in 1970 can I figure out what production # mine is?
Is mine a rare 1969??? Since it was built in June of 1970 that makes it a 1970 RIGHT??

Notes: For 1970
New grill with six groups of silver "dashes" above and below the horizontal aluminum center bar with Chevy's name across it.

The Blazer's single-unit body was joined to a heavy channel steel frame and had a completely removable fiberglass top.

A 4x2 Blazer was produced this year, Only 985 were produced!

Notes: For 1969
First production year for Chevrolet's entry into the expanding 4x4 off-road vehicle field.

An aluminum center piece, in the grille, was embossed with the Chevrolet name, it had integral, rectangular parking lamps at each end, next to its square headlamp housings. A large Chevrolet bow tie was at the front center of the hood.

The Blazer's single-unit body was joined to a heavy channel steel frame and had a completely removable fiberglass top.

Chevrolet production records show a model number and listing for a 4x2 Blazer, but indicate that none were built in this model-year.

I restored it

Not sure if this will help, maybe guide in the right direction hopefully.

This is probably the most info I have ever found on any web site about the 2wd blazers.

http://1972c5.com/

Good luck I know it is hard to find any true documented info on any of them.

Can I ask what you did to lower it? I like the way yours sits. Looks good! Would like mine to look that good.

I would say you got a 70.....Chevy is known for useing up extra parts from previous years to new models. just look at the 73-87 trucks, they stopped making that style truck in 87 but continuded to make that style blazer til 91

Re: Questions - Help about 1970 2WD Blazer

I'd say you just got a fairly early production of a super rare year 2wd and ended up with some leftovers from 69. Very cool blazer!

Just curious why you think it could be a 69?
If the door sticker reads 70, what does the vin read? (inside glove box door)
Looks like a nice ride. Not aware of any 69 2wd blazers however.

Re: Questions - Help about 1970 2WD Blazer

It is spindle dropped 2" in front and coil dropped 4" in rear. Tires are 275/60/15
I raced BMX for Schwinn and a few other companies back in the day and I started restoring Schwinns back in the day and people started calling me Schwinn that did not know my name and it stuck.
Using parts from a 1969 and 70 is probably the right answer. is there some way we can find out what production # or how many are left in 1970 2WD since they only made 985 I wonder how many are left.

Re: Questions - Help about 1970 2WD Blazer

Very nice blazer. Looks like it had the 70 grille originally. Still a very rare truck compared to the millions of C10's made...

Very sharp Blazer! What is different about the 69 and 70 grill? I just always assumed they were the same.

The inner grille is a little different...can't remember what the actual difference is though.
