I can't go past 60 mph on the freeway
Whenever I try accelerating past 60 my truck starts to vibrate & I hear a low humming noise I'm afraid to push it further, any ideas what it could be...?

Tires and wheels in balance and not out of round?

My guess would be universals. Try accelerating up a hill and then on the downside, lift your foot off the gas pedal. If the vibration goes away while coasting, the universal or universals are bad.

Re: I can't go past 60 mph on the freeway
I agree the most obvious possibilities are tires or u-joints. If the joints are good, it could also be the driveshaft is either bent or out of balance or you could even have an imbalance in the engine. If you have a long bed with a two piece driveshaft it’s likely the bearing in the center is the problem. They are frequently neglected far more than the end joints.
Once the vibration is eliminated, if the truck still won’t go fast enough the universal solution is to take a small hammer and break the speedometer glass. Turn the speedo needle all the way to the top and the vehicle will accelerate like a rocket! Rocky and Bullwinkle showed how to do it back in the 60’s. You know pilots get the same effect right before they break the sound barrier, you sure you're only doing 60?

Yup as soon as I let off the gas when I push it the vibration stops

My truck stock did about 58 unless it was downhill.
