Coilover angle

Can coilover shocks be installed vertical? Should there be some angle to them?
Thanx in advance
Dano

Re: Coilover angle

He's right. Check into Pro Shocks, or Afco's website, they have graphs and calculators to show the effective spring rate and shock dampening rate changes per degree of angle. There could be an advantage of leaning the shock, but you have to do the math to get it right. A 4" stroke shock laid over 30* from the axle travel line will provide almost 6" of travel, but needs 27% more spring and dampening to provide the same ride as it would straight up.

Re: Coilover angle

Thanx Rob,
I do have some C-10 coilover shock thoughts and ideas I'd like to run by you sometime. But I'll have to get back to you sometime in the future.
Thanx
Dano
